2024-12-02 17:57:48 GMT seasonde (TGU) outlet GFI tripped, when reset the power would continuously cycle on and off and I think this was a problem with the UPS, I could plug in webpower switch directly to the outlet and it stayed om, UPS batteries were down to 29% charge and I let them charge without a load until they were at 57%, then hooked everything back up as normal with power switch plugged into the uPS, this worke okay, had to manually restart the computer again because it was in boot recovery mode and requesting reinstall of the OS, first restart didnt work but a second restart through the apple menu did work, the new Garmin GPS did not work, it read a high 8 megaohm resistance when I checked it independently, the old antenna measured 10 megaohms, the GPS cable measured 50 ohms with a 50ohm resistor attached to the end so the cable is fine, changed out the backup data drive
2024-12-03 18:25:11 GMT seasonde (TGU) turned off transmit and radial processing, with the GPS not working, I see other sites sea echo appearing in different places in the spectra and getting close to the Bragg region
2024-12-04 14:50:00 GMT (TGU) Started transmitting at 26.3699, still in band but should not interfere with other Bay stations
2024-12-04 19:06:00 GMT (TGU) set frequency back to 26.251 MHz, re-enabled processing starting with first spectra that had data (CSS_SUNS_2024_12_04_150000.csr)
2024-12-04 19:13:55 GMT seasonde (TGU) Installed new Garmin GA38 GPS bullet antenna, used existing cable with adapter TNC to BNC because new antenna uses BNC connection, adapter that was built as TNC to BNC did not seem to work, but then adapter that I pieced together from the cable kit did work, however, I also did a cold reset of the receiver in the software around the same time as the second adapter attempt so perhaps that also had some benefit? The Garmin GPS read a high or open resistance and this is normal. The cable that came with the Garmin GPS is long enough however I couldnt feed it through the conduit hole in the bottom of trailer, would have to cut and reterminate the end or drill another hole.
